Hawaiian Civic Club of Wahiawā

The Hawaiian Civic Club of Wahiawā (HCCW) seeks to protect, preserve, and perpetuate the privileges of Kūkaniloko as multigenerational stewards of this wahi pana with an unbroken chain of care spanning over a century.

Their mission is to inspire, educate, and encourage all things Hawaiian, seen and unseen, and to become responsible for and carry on the moʻolelo of our kūpuna. By strengthening community authority, restoring native ecosystems, and preserving historical records of stewardship, HCCW is advancing a long-term vision where Hawaiians reclaim decision-making power over sacred lands and sustain ʻike for future generations.

In 1950, The Daughters of Hawaiʻi officially passed Stewardship and Guardianship of Kūkaniloko Birth Site to the Wahiawā Hawaiian Civic Club (WHCC), established on June 15, 1935. On November 10, 1960, the families of Wahiawā reorganized to the Hawaiian Civic Club of Wahiawā (HCCW). In 2025, the hui celebrated their 65th Anniversary; and 75 years of unbroken care as Guardians of Kūkaniloko Birth Site.
