Circular HI is a conduit and connector of dots in Maui’s circular economy, centering the restablishment of indigenous models of circularity and incubate collaborative efforts to increase participation in circular-based practices.
Circular Hawaiʻi is a collaborative effort between various initiatives related to circular economic models that emerged in 2022 to respond to the impact of the Covid pandemic. Working with other members of the Circular Hawaiʻi network, Share Circle seeks to offer a remedy in the economic aftermath of the 2023 Maui wildfires by informing residents about the free, subsidized and affordable local resources available to them. Their overarching goal is to refine the Circular Hawaiʻi Map and conduct outreach to disseminate this map to Maui residents, utilizing digital outreach and promotion to educate community about alternative economic models that can support the long road of recovery, encouraging residents be a part of its growth. The more residents that choose to participate in a circular economy, the stronger these economic pathways become for everyone on island.
