Hui o Kuapā educates local and global communities about Native Hawaiian biocultural resource management through the restoration, use, and maintenance of Molokaiʻs loko iʻa (traditional Hawaiian fishponds) and their adjacent lands.
Their mission is to cultivate a thriving, culturally resilient Hawaiʻi where ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language), moʻolelo (traditional stories), traditional arts, and mālama aina (land stewardship) practices are deeply integrated into education systems and community life—resulting in empowered youth and educators, sustained cultural preservation, food security, and a broad, active network of guardians who uphold and perpetuate Hawaiian heritage, language, and environmental stewardship for generations to come.
