Project Koa Yoga educates, trains, and mentors a generation of resilience-centered health educators, equipped to reintegrate the people, land, and culture of Hawaiʻi through a trauma-informed lens and a commitment to diversity through accessibility and aloha.
The hui also provides trauma-informed, culturally responsive yoga and wellness programs to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women in Hawai'i, with a focus on the Women’s Community Correctional Center (WCCC) and community programs on Maui and O'ahu. Through their Apprenticeship Program, participants gain yoga teacher training, leadership skills, and pathways to personal and professional growth, addressing systemic inequities by promoting mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing while empowering women to reclaim agency in their lives.
