Legacy Giving

The Hoʻomau Legacy Gifts program can benefit both you and the vision of Hawaiʻi Peopleʻs Fund. Through planned giving, your gift to social change in Hawaiʻi today can reach far beyond your lifetime. With proper planning, you can make sure your wishes are fulfilled, and ensure your intention in this life carries the work forward for generations to come.
Bequests
Create a lasting legacy for social change by naming Hawaiʻi Peopleʻs Fund in your Will:
- Make a specific bequest of cash, stocks, or real property
- Make a proportionate bequest of a percentage of your estate
- Make a contingent bequest (should your primary beneficiaries not survive you)
- Make a residual bequest, distributing the balance of your estate after other bequests have been distributed
Life Insurance
A worthwhile yet often overlooked form of philanthropic giving is the donation of a life insurance policy that may no longer be needed, including policies provided by an employer through group insurance. If you find that you currently own more insurance than you need, consider donating one of your no-longer essential policies to Hawaiʻi Peopleʻs Fund. By giving this way, and naming HPF as an irrevocable beneficiary of the policy, you will receive an immediate income tax deduction in most cases (the amount of which depends upon the type of policy contributed).
Name Hawaiʻi Peopleʻs Fund as a Beneficiary of a Retirement Plan
